Once upon a time the millennium clock tower used to chime with Johann Sebastian Bach’s music every hour at the National Museum of Scotland. Nowadays, silenced under the COVID-19 pandemic museum closure, it still echoes in our collective memories. Is there a better time to evoke these memories than on International Museum Day, 18 May 2020?

Let’s quietly celebrate the millennium clock tower on Interntaional Museum Day with Diana’s award-winninng sketch published here for the first time. It brought her the first place in the National Museum of Scotland’s Christmas Art Competition 2019 in the over 21 years old artists category. Look at the sketch again and you may see Diana standing in front of the clock pre-pandemic with a pencil, a sketchbook and her toddler boy beside her sketching away.

Inspired? Just download the International Museum Day colour-in poster available here and start sketching away. When your colouring is finished, do not forget to snap a picture, upload it to your social media and tag us #DianaSavova and #IliyanaNedkova. We will share them all. You may even become the winner of the first place in our own International Museum Day competition juried by the award-winning artist Diana Savova. Yours, Iliyana Nedkova
